SE KLA Science Discovery Festival 2026

Date: 07/10/2026

Step into a world of hands-on innovation at our Science Discovery Festival! This year, our students embarked on an exciting investigation: constructing DIY solar ovens to explore how specific design and environmental factors affect the efficiency of heating food.

Through this interactive project, students gained far more than scientific knowledge—they actively developed essential generic skills for the future. They sharpened their problem-solving skills while troubleshooting design mechanics, demonstrated strong organizational skills by systematically testing variables and logging temperature data, and refined their presentation skills as they confidently explained their findings to judges, peers, and guests. Working through trial and error also fostered deep critical thinking and team collaboration.

We were delighted to welcome Mr. Richard Cheung from the EDB Science Section, Ms. Jobi Lam (Ho Fung Science Panel Head), Mr. Ho (Tsuen Wan Catholic Primary School Science Head), and 16 primary students to join our Festival. We are deeply grateful for their presence and the valuable feedback they offered to our young innovators!
